In this guide we will be looking at some of the popular characters from the Percy Jackson series of books and movies in terms of their Myers-Briggs personality types.

Percy Jackson Personality Types:

Percy Jackson is one of  multiple popular novel series by Rick Riordan. It has recently been adapted into movies as well. The characters in the series are well-developed and complex. They are adored by readers and attempts have been made to typify them using the MBTI personality classification system.

The main character Percy Jackson is typified as an ESFJ (The Consul). This personality type has the Extraverted, Sensing, Feeling and Judging functions. Like most ESFJs, Percy has a strong sense of duty and honour and is loyal to his loved ones. He is good at engaging with other people and is warm and sensitive. He also has a tendency to be too selfless and a little inflexible. Lastly, although Percy is an ESFJ, he exhibits a lot of introvert traits as well.

Annabeth Chase – INTJ (The Architect):

Another important character in the series is Annabeth Chase. She is typified as an INTJ. This personality type has Introverted, Intuitive,Thinking and Judging functions. In many ways she is the opposite of Percy Jackson. While Percy is all heart and can be reckless at times, Annabeth is careful and analytical. She is quick and innovative and good at making plans and strategizing. Like most INTJs, she is focused, hard-working and independent. However, she also has a tendency to be critical and to over-analyse situations. Interestingly, Annabeth’s has a proclivity for architecture, which is in line with her personality type.
