This blog investigates the nature of female INTJ characters and their interactions with other characters in their respective storylines. It will also highlight some of the traits of an INTJ according to research.

Female INTJ Anime Characters.

Female INTJ anime characters include:

• Kurisu Makise from Steins; Gates

• Akira Mado from Tokyo Ghoul

Kurisu Makise from Steins; Gates

Kurisu is the type of INTJ that stays calm and collected in the most intense of situations despite the reaction of others. She is a sensible, serious mature young woman who has impeccable reasoning skills.

Kurisu is very practical and a realist who refuses to believe anything in the absence of empirical evidence. For example, she believed firmly that time machines were a lie and refused to believe even after seeing how it works. 

She claimed that Okabe had simply seen what he wanted to see. It takes the group’s looking up SERN’s research about time travel to finally convince Kurisu of the truth. 

Kurisu is a typical INTJ who is very sarcastic and often expresses this through her interactions with Okabe and Daru. Apart from these two, she is quite friendly with anyone as long they don’t do anything inappropriate or are incompetent or like to constantly engage in petty arguments.

Kurisu believes in give and take and is seen treating others largely on how they treat her. However, we see her INTJ pride and confidence when she says disrespectful things to respectful people.

Kaguya Shinomiya from “Love is war”

Kaguya is the perfect portrayal of an INTJ because she is a very cold and rational individual who tolerates no nonsense from anyone. When she joins the student council she meets her love interest Miyuki Shirogane. 

She reasons within herself that she would only be in a relationship with him if, and only if, he confesses feelings for her first. She employs the use of her INTJ wit to constantly plays mind games in trying to get him to confess. 

Later in the series, her actions imply that she is starting to accept her feelings of liking Miyuki, but won’t openly admit it as the INTJ is lacking self-expression. 

Kaguya has a bad habit of immediately turning to money to solve her problems. She tends to address people in a formal and impersonal manner, 

and almost always uses their last names in a conversation.

Kyōko Kirigiri from the Danganronpa franchise

Kyoko is an INTJ who is a stoic. She is an intelligent and mysterious girl who tends to hide and suppress her feelings. She has a calm demeanor and tends to be completely unfazed by most of the events that occur, even at the sight of a dead body.

At the beginning of the game, Kyoko shows her introversion by often keeping her distance from the other students while investigating. Before the investigation to find the way out with no casualties, Kyoko doesn’t seem to cooperate with the other students and does most of the investigating by herself. 

This is because INTJs typically dislike teamwork and do not want to be slowed down by the incompetence of others. She plays a major role in solving mysteries of the culprits in class trials.

Her Thinking function evident as she is one of very few students that see things objectively and without jumping to conclusions in the trial. This makes her a valuable ally to Makoto. She also doesn’t like it when people keep secrets from her or lying to her.

However, in Danganronpa 3, Kyoko experiences some personality adjustments as she becomes a lot more considerate of her friends and her demeanor becomes friendlier in their company. 

She is seen smiling at them and sharing physical contact as she begins to trust them very much. However, when she is with other people she maintains her INTJ  trait of being very expressionless and reserved. 

She is also a bit sharp and annoyed in Koichi Kizakura’s company. Being his boss, she is very protective of Makoto but also admires him greatly.

Re-L Mayer from Ergo-proxy

Re-l is the typical INTJ who is detached, cold, insensitive, and apathetic. This could be however be in part because every Romdeau citizen has been raised since childhood in a rigid emotional control system to maintain impassivity.

Additionally, she is not very sociable and is extremely rude. Re-l has a high social position as the granddaughter of the Regent. As a result, she puts in great effort to behave superior to others and pretend to not be interested in their affairs as she does not like to be called “excellence”.

She has lived an easy life being spoiled and pampered. She cannot do her hair, is unable to cook and she has made a career relying heavily on the entourage and has little capacity to adapt to situations. 

Despite this, Re-l is quite self-reliant. Furthermore, she has shown that she is an INTJ mastermind capable of manipulating others. In episode 2, she began to cry, getting Deadalus to set up a brain scan. 

This was in fact a ploy to get him to leave the room so she could look up information on his computer on the proxies. She later noticed that Vincent was in love with her, and much later kissed him to distract him so she could hide her anti-proxy gun.

Like most INTJs, Re-l is a very controlling perfectionist. She has wanted everything orderly all the time no matter where she is. When she is stressed her orderliness becomes amplified as she becomes hysterical even over the slightest defect. 

In addition, her Judging function makes her routine-oriented. She follows a strict schedule that dictates the times she wakes up, exercises, and the hours of the meals she self-imposed. 

She is also meticulous enough to keep records in the same notebook in which she transcribes her observations about the cases.

Many of the episodes are narrated from her point of view through introspective monologues that show the reasoning power and thinking process of an INTJ. 

Akira Mado from Tokyo Ghoul

Akira is an intelligent woman who takes her work very seriously and follows her daily routine devotedly. Her INTJ abilities are exhibited in her deep insight and intuition that helps her in investigations and determining situations while on the field. 

Akira remains professional in most situations, no matter who she is faced with, and she is not one to admit her feelings on a subject unless provoked to a certain degree. 

Seen through her interactions with others it is evident that she is an introvert and does not want to make emotional connections. Akira is a self-sufficient and talented INTJ who is confident in her abilities.

Traits of an INTJ 

The following are the characteristics of an INTJ:

• INTJs are very innovative

• They have many original ideas

• They have a deep resolve to execute their bright ideas and achieve their goals. 

• They quickly pick up on patterns in sets of information.

• They always finish what they start.

• They are skeptics

• They are autonomous and independent

• They have extremely high standards of competence for everyone

• They are very precise and efficient performers in tasks

• INTJs are future-focused

• They are very rational and logical

• They are calm and quiet

• They are often seen as perfectionists

• The INTJ enjoys spending time alone

• They hate crowds

• They hate noise
