People with this personality type focus on values like truth and justice and prefer to see the logic or aim of things. They can be described as task oriented rather than people oriented.

People who have the judging function are very particular about having schedules; they want to know what needs to be done when and prefer not to have too many surprises in their routines because it affects their work and tasks they need to get done. These individuals are very much interested in learning things that are relevant to their area of interest. They will investigate its elements and try to gather as much information as they can! The enneagram type 5 is alert, innovative but secretive at the same time.

People with this enneagram type have the ability to build complex ideas and skills; this is possible only because of their focus on the specific area they are working within and their dedication to master it.

The type 5 enneagram has an innate need to learn continuously. They want more and more information and want to increase their reservoir of knowledge. The Basic Fear – Type 5 Enneagram

The basic fear of these enneagrams is that they will become useless in the sense that they have no skill or knowledge. They are scared they will not be competent in any field of life which they can master. The fear is not associated with showing off but to give their own self a sense of assurance that they have a skill they know very well and it makes the stand out from others.

The Basic Desire – Type 5 Enneagram

Their basic desire stems from their fear of not being competent. The desire is to learn so that they are competent and skilled in a certain area that is of much interest to them and not so common or known amongst others. They desire to be different in the knowledge they possess and skills they can employ. It gives them a sense of competence, capability and assurance.

Enneagram Type 1 – The Idealist

These individuals are indeed unique! They possess traits that are both extroverted or introverted in nature! For example, they are great at connecting with people while at the same time, just like introverts, they are able to use their own mental processes to reach logical conclusions or focus on the small details of things.

This enneagram type just loves knowledge and will do anything to gain it. They are passionate about the rights of others and will often be seen defending them. They have the ability to do a lot for their community and this is because of their passion and deep desire to see fairness and justice for others. 

These individuals are optimistic and picture an ideal world towards which they work relentlessly! The Fear of Idealists!

The fear of this enneagram type is to make decisions that are based on ill intent. They fear that they may lose control  especially when there is injustice going on. The type 1 enneagram is also scared of being motivated to take decisions for the wrong reasons. They want to do what is right for the right reasons.

Desires of Type 1 Enneagrams

This enneagram type desires fairness and likes it when things are done according to merit rather than subjective will. They want to see a world where people choose to do the right thing instead of being forced to do the right thing – they also want this for themself!
